Police are hunting for three men and a woman is recovering in hospital after she allegedly had a chemical thrown in her face as she waited outside a restaurant in Haymarket on Good Friday.
The woman, 32, was waiting outside a Dixon Street restaurant around 11.15pm on Friday when a black hatchback stopped in front of her, police say.
“Three men wearing facemasks exited the vehicle, when a substance, believed to be acid, was thrown at the woman’s face. The men got back in the vehicle and drove off along Dixon Street,” police said in a statement on Saturday morning.
The woman was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with facial injuries, and police established a crime scene.
Police believe the alleged attack was targeted.
