The Maher-Eustace camp produces one of the more interesting runners on the day in three-year-old filly Whatafox, which will seek to break her maiden status in the Castelvecchio @ Arrowfield Handicap (1550m).

She’s compiled five seconds from seven starts, including a listed placing behind Royalzel at Flemington last July and a Group 2 second in October, but has been a beaten favourite in both runs this time in.
The state switch could well be in search of a wet track for the filly. She was narrowly denied by Pocket Change on a heavy 10 when resuming, but perhaps found them too sharp on good ground at Swan Hill when a $1.16 favourite.
Blinkers go on her at Canterbury and she has James McDonald to guide her, so it’d be no surprise if she finally rings up number one.
